A local school board recently took a stand in favor of parents.
The National School Board Association submitted a letter to President Joe Biden Sept. 29 in an effort to get help monitoring threats against school officials, without seeking the opinions of members of the group. Then, Oct. 22 the organization issued a apology letter after referring to parents who protest as ‘domestic terrorists.’
And the Dysart Unified School District governing board agreed it was wrong. In a split vote 3-2, Nov. 10, the board voted in favor to discontinue the district’s membership with the National School Board Association.
