DVUSD to tackle spring semester plans

Board’s busy week also includes expected budget decrease, potential $20M for new school

With coronavirus numbers continue to surge in Arizona, Deer Valley Unified School District this week will examine the latest metrics as defined by the Maricopa County Department of Public Health to decide on a spring semester plan.

The district governing board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 for a work session to discuss plans. The session is available for a live online stream at dvusd.org/livestream. The board will review county and district dashboard metrics at the work session.

“We are in contact with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health  at least weekly and sometimes more often than that,” the district’s communications and community engagement director Monica Allread shared in an email to the Glendale Independent. “Our superintendent is in contact with the governor’s office at least monthly and some months more often than that.”
