Deer Valley Unified School District is taking steps toward a temporary return to virtual learning to open the spring semester after the upcoming Christmas break.
The district in a Dec. 8 governing board work session laid out its plans for when the 2020-21 school year resumes Monday, Jan. 4, in response to Maricopa County’s rising coronavirus cases.
DVUSD is planning for all K-8 students and early childhood (developmental preschool/Head Start) to use virtual learning platforms Jan. 4-15, with a scheduled return to in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The plan also calls for all high school students to use virtual learning Jan. 4-22, with a scheduled return to campus learning starting Monday, Jan. 25.
