DUI Task Force patrolling Scottsdale through weekend

The Scottsdale Police Department, in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will be conducting DUI enforcement to enhance traffic safety through the weekend. The Task Force will operate the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 2.

Also participating with the DUI Task Force will be law enforcement partners from Apache Junction Police, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Chandler Police, Gilbert Police, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Mesa Police, Queen Creek Police, Salt River Police, and Tempe Police.

DUIs are 100 percent preventable. The results of DUI collisions can be devastating and tragic. If people plan on consuming alcoholic beverages or using recreational marijuana, the Scottsdale Police Department strongly recommends they also plan ahead to have a sober designated driver who can get them home safely. Other safe options include using a ride-share service or a taxi.
