Dubauskus: Here’s why I left my dream job to run for Arizona Senate

Posted

It isn’t every day you walk away from a dream job. For most of us, we hope to end our careers on a high note with a big retirement party looking back on a dedicated life and fulfilled dreams.

That was certainly my expectation before 2020. I couldn’t foresee that I would walk away from my dream career as a general counsel and chief operating officer in the health insurance industry.

And yet, in November 2020 I volunteered to poll watch at a local precinct. To my great surprise and concern, my Democrat poll-watching counterpart was from California. She told me she took time off and traveled to Arizona to poll watch. She came to Arizona because she wanted to “turn Arizona blue.”

I was shocked! In 2020, I didn’t see that kind of dedication from my fellow freedom-loving conservatives.

As 2020 passed, my concern grew for my children’s future in Arizona. Determined to join the fight, I decided to volunteer in local politics and tried to create the positive change we needed for our state. I first became a precinct committeeman and then captain of my precinct. When I decided to run for state Senate, I had to choose between my dream job and fighting for my children’s future and Arizona’s future.

The decision wasn’t hard — Arizona is my home and it is worth fighting for!

As our next state senator, I’ll fight for a better future. I’ll fight for our constitutional liberties. I’ll fight to take power back for “We the People,” reigniting the American dream in our community, our state and our children. Doing this isn’t going to be easy, but I’m committed to the task. I cannot just watch Washington interfere with our home state, I’m jumping in the arena and fighting for us.

We need a strong, secure border to keep our communities and neighborhoods safe. Our wishy-washy failing leaders have left our border wide open for drug and human trafficking.

Education is near and dear to my heart. Because of the indoctrination coming from the left, school has become the front line today in the battle for America. As a public-school mom, I know firsthand that we need to ensure every student has access to high-quality education options that best fit their needs, prepares them for the future, and doesn’t fill their minds with indoctrination.

Life begins in the womb. Period. As a woman of faith and mother of five — including a son born prematurely — I believe that life must be protected and that it begins at conception. We need to ensure expecting mothers have a strong support system and access to the resources they need.

I will promote alternatives to abortion and pursue serious reform of our adoption agencies and foster care system.

Arizona needs to safeguard our elections against those who seek to undermine the process and cheat the system. The audit identified flaws and weaknesses in our system. It’s up to us to correct them and re-earn the voters’ trust.

As your senator, I will advocate for election integrity and ensure that our elections are secure against fraud.

This campaign is about We the People. Yes, I left my dream job for all of us, so that together, We the People can live the American dream in Arizona once again.
