Driver killed after swerving into oncoming traffic, police look for next of kin

Phoenix police are looking for the next of kin of a man who died Sunday night in a crash near 43rd Avenue and Ocotillo Road.

The man, who was in his mid-40s and driving a gray vehicle, died at a hospital following the 7:30 p.m. collision. The driver of the other vehicle, which was red, suffered minor injuries, police said.

Detectives investigating said it appears the gray vehicle was heading north on 43rd Avenue and was seen by witnesses changing lanes frequently to pass slower vehicles just before the collision.

Phoenix police are looking for the next of kin of a man who died Sunday night in a crash near 43rd Avenue and Ocotillo Road.

The man, who was in his mid-40s and driving a gray vehicle, died at a hospital following the 7:30 p.m. collision. The driver of the other vehicle, which was red, suffered minor injuries, police said.

Detectives investigating said it appears the gray vehicle was heading north on 43rd Avenue and was seen by witnesses changing lanes frequently to pass slower vehicles just before the collision.

While approaching Ocotillo Road, the gray vehicle lost control, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the red vehicle, which was heading south on 43rd Avenue, police said.

The investigation remains active as detectives process the scene and search for the man’s next of kin.
