An 18-year-old man is in jail after being indicted in connection with a crash that killed one passenger and left another seriously injured, Buckeye Police said.

Prior to the crash that occurred about 10:15 p.m. on June 2, Nathan Chaidez topped speeds at more than 100 mph shortly before losing control of his car and hitting a tree near Verrado and Sunrise, police stated in a release.

He was indicted Oct. 15 on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He turned himself in this week to Buckeye police and booked into jail.
