Two speeding vehicles may have triggered a six‑car, chain‑reaction crash Saturday evening in central Phoenix, sending multiple people, including three juveniles, to the hospital, police said.
Officers responded to the collision just after 7 p.m. May 30 near 16th Street and Thomas Road, when a 26-year-old man driving a Toyota Tacoma was speeding heading north and failed to stop for traffic waiting at a red light, colliding with two vehicles that were stopped at the intersection, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
A second “speeding driver,” a 33-year-old man in a Pontiac G6, was traveling north behind the Tacoma and also failed to stop, the release stated.
