An 18-year-old died Monday after the car he was driving crashed on a Loop 202 off-ramp at Desert Foothills Parkway, police said.
The collision occurred about 10 a.m. Jan. 20 as the vehicle was leaving the freeway eastbound.
“The off-ramp curves to the north; however, the vehicle did not make the turn and collided with the wall, resulting in the vehicle flipping over,” a Phoenix Police Department release stated.
Carlos Alvarez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man in the vehicle was assessed by emergency personnel but did not require being taken to a hospital, police said, adding an investigation remains active.
