Draw-A-Thon will take place Saturday in the gallery at the Tempe Center for the Arts, where family-friendly activities are planned to celebrate the “arts and sciences of drawing,” event organizers said.
All ages who like to draw, doodle, create and play will have things to keep them busy, according to a release.
This year’s event at the center, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, celebrates the "HEAR ME, SEE ME" exhibition embracing topics about self-expression, identity and creativity.
During the day, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., activities include hands-on art booths, demonstrations, art displays, games, food and other activities.
Participants can draw alongside professional artists, experiment with new drawing tools and learn about techniques and technologies during live demonstrations.
From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., adults 18 and older are invited to Drag & Draw.
Veronica Savage Rose (Miss Phoenix Pride 2023) and Thee Koco Caine (Season 1 and 4, “The Boulet Brothers Dragula”) will model costumes throughout the evening.
There will be music and visual artists will lead “open-studio style drawing sessions, organizers said.
