DPS releases statistics from zero-tolerance speeding initiative
The Arizona Department of Public Safety released some of its statistics from its zero-tolerance initiative that began in November.
Troopers were out on eight separate details starting on Nov. 10, 2017, in order to crack down on speeding drivers along Valley freeways. DPS focused mainly on the Loop 101, 202 and 303.
While troopers were enforcing speed limits throughout the month of November, the eight days reflected in the released statistics are the only days DPS ran actual details in which the department enhanced staffing by pulling from other districts around the Valley.
