Two groups promoting downtown Phoenix are merging, as Downtown Phoenix Inc. absorbs Downtown Phoenix Partnership.
The merger originally was planned to be official today but will wait until the start of August to give the DPI board time to meet and approve of the merger during an in-person meeting.
Since its formation in 2013, DPI has coordinated activities between DPP and two other groups — Phoenix Community Alliance and Downtown Phoenix Community Development Organization. Now, DPP will become part of DPI.
