Shelden Barna Sun City - Dorothy (Dottie) Shelden Barna was born March 10, 1935, the 8th child of Burr & Myrtle Shelden 35 miles from Douglas, Wyoming. They had homesteaded there from Missouri. She graduated from South High School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1953. Seven girls ran around together thru school and enjoyed many reunions, including 60th in 2013. She met Frank Barna when they were 16. He was her prom date and they married July 18, 1953. Dorothy said, "Frank is one of the kindest people, I have ever met, but with a gruff exterior." July 9th the following year, they had Michael Frank and August 25, 1955, Cheryl Suzanne arrived. Mike married Carmela Dunn and Cheri married Michael Patterson and gave them seven grandchildren - Jeremy Dean & Angela Deanna Patterson, Christopher Michael, Jason Frank & James Alan, Dillon Michael & Brandon William Barna. Sun City, Arizona became there home in 1985. They worked until retirement in 2000 then began traveling in a Pleasure-Way until they bought a Dolphin motor home in 2007. Traveling the United States, Mexico & Canada was the best, according to them. Three great granddaughters, Taylor & Kiersten Davis & Rileigh Barna were a welcome addition. Dottie passed away January 2, 2016. Her Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino del Sol, Sun City West.
