Doris West Conner, 98, passed away Nov. 1st at Royal Oaks Retirement Community in Sun City, AZ. Born and raised in LaSalle, CO, the daughter of the late Earl F. Todd and Mina Girvan Todd.She worked as a secretary at a Japanese POW Camp and at a Seattle shipyard during World War II. As a homemaker and mother in Maryland, she enjoyed sewing, entertaining and playing bridge. She treasured her friends at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Surprise, AZ, organizing volunteers and writing a regular newsletter column. Her family and friends remember her kindness, warm heart and big smile.Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, E. Dale West and William Conner; and brother, Edwin Todd. Survivors include son, Jon West and wife Dale of Largo, FL; daughter, Jan Carroza and husband Jim of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Molly Moore and husband Keith Vessell; and great-granddaughters, Josie and Norah Moore of Hillsboro, MO; granddaughter, Sarah Lovegreen and husband Jeremy; and great-grandsons, Mitchell and Allen of St. Louis, M; nephews: Allan West of Santa Rosa, CA, Gene Price and wife Joy of Forestville, CA, and Mark Todd and wife Lori of Shalimar, FL; and nieces: Judy Lee and Nancy Borgo of Santa Rosa, CA, and Terri Edwards and husband Eldon of Colorado Springs, CO.A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Surprise, AZ, Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 A.M. The church is at 17540 Avenue of the Arts in Surprise. Donations can be made in her name to the church.
