Doris, 93, passed away peacefully on March 21st, 2024, in her home in Sun City West, Arizona, surrounded by her loved ones. Born to Anna and Edward Deane on December 5th, 1930, Doris was raised on Long Island, New York. There she met the love of her life, Lawrence J. Klag, and they married on November 28th, 1953.
Doris was a mother of five children, grandmother to seventeen, and great-grandmother to eight. Doris was a registered nurse and an Associate to the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis, SSJTOSF. She was dedicated to her faith, family, and a lifetime of friendships.
Doris and Larry retired to Sun City West, AZ, where Doris enjoyed volunteering for Sun City West Theatre Productions, Meals on Wheels, and The Salvation Army. She was passionate about these commitments and the many cherished friendships she formed within these groups.
Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Lawrence, and her children: Deborah Beio (Daniel), Diane Parrington (Steven Lattanzi), John Klag (Nina), Eileen Ryan (John), and Robert Klag (Tina). She is also survived by her grandchildren David Beio, Jennifer Jones, Matthew Beio (Wendy), Diana Parrington (Brian Schenck), Lars Parrington (Betsy), Ingrid Parrington, Alexander Klag (Meghan), Amanda Kober (Ryan), Aaron Klag (Megan), Emily Ryan, Anna Ryan, Gaelynn Ryan, Justin Klag (Katrina), Evan Klag (Jennifer), Shannon Hall (Samuel), Chloe Robinson (Michael), and Sarah Klag. As well as her great-grandchildren, Lucas Beio, Sabine and Cordelia Schenck, Nya and Atreya Parrington, Elizabeth and William Klag, and Henry Hall. Doris is predeceased by her parents, and her sisters, Eileen Aiello and Mary Caples, and her brother Edward Deane.
May her many stories and spirit live on through her loving family and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday April 7th, 3:00-5:00pm, at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W. Camino Del Sol in Sun City West. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday April 8th, 10:00am, at Our Lady of Lourdes, 19002 N. 128th Ave., in Sun City West. A committal service will be held at a later date on, Monday, April 22nd, at 12:30pm, out at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
The family would like to thank ComForCare Home Care and Hospice of the Valley for the kindness, care, and compassion shown to Doris during her final days. She and her family are so grateful to you all.
