SARASOTA, Fla. - Donna Lea Reed, 77, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 very unexpectedly. She was born in Cressona, Pa. on November 9, 1938. She attended Cressona High School and worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. before moving to Sarasota, Fla. She moved to Sun City West, Ariz. for a few years where she took up bowling before moving back to Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Elizabeth Schaeffer; and her brother, Drew Schaeffer. Donna is survived by her son, Scott Reed and his wife Barbara of Coral Springs, Fla.; her daughter, Karen Lea Reed of Siesta Key, Fla.; granddaughter, Stephanie Lee Reed of Coral Spings, Fla.; siblings, Shirley Hill, Wilmington, Del., Bernice Yoder, Sun City West, Ariz., Bettie Lou Emerich, Cressona, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private.
