The Tomaso Maggiore Culinary Arts Foundation is hosting its annual cooking pan drive through Dec. 31, intending to make a difference in the lives of high school students pursuing a college scholarship in culinary arts.
The cookware items needed include non-stick six-inch omelet pans and stainless steel 12-inch sauté pans. Donated pans can be dropped off at The Mexicano, 4801 W. Cactus Road.
Many lack the essential kitchen equipment needed for their culinary ambitions and with help from the community, the Tomaso Maggiore Culinary Arts Foundation can provide the tools students need to excel and achieve their culinary goals.
The Tomaso Maggiore Culinary Arts Foundation’s mission is to raise the level of professionalism and excellence in all aspects of the culinary industry in the Valley. The foundation hopes to achieve this through education, internships, externships and international immersion programs. So far, the foundation has provided $44,500 in scholarships to students in the Valley in addition to donated cookware items.
