Donald Lewis Parkin

Donald, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in Spokane, Washington. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Don was born on December 23, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to Don and Angeline Parkin. He grew up in Shell Lake, WI. Aft er graduating high school, he entered the United States Air Force.
Don married Gwen Johnson in 1956 and they later divorced. Don worked at Honeywell as a research scientist.
Don married Judy Sullivan on August 27, 1985 in Minneapolis. Th ey lived in Robbinsdale, MN, while Don continued his career with Honeywell. He received many honors and awards and retired aft er 40 years with the company.
In 1995 they began to spend his winters in Sun City, AZ. He was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fi shing, metal detecting, silversmithing, skiing, snowmobiling, trap shooting, and treasure hunting.
He is survived by his wife Judy Parkin of Ramsey, MN; two sons Dan (Sil) Parkin of Dover, ID and Dennis Parkin of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Renee Gwen of Lino Lakes, MN; step-sons Bill Sullivan of Oak Grove, MN and Todd Sullivan of Ramsey, MN; brother Richard (Melissa) Parkin of Sarasota, FL; and sister Patsy (Luther) Magelson of St. Cloud, MN; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Parkin and grandson Nicholas Gomez.
