Domestic-violence offender sentenced to prison for Mesa incident

A Mesa man was sentenced to 22 years in prison in relation to a 2024 attack on his girlfriend at the time.

Kenneth Brauer, 34, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of 13 counts for a domestic violence incident in Mesa.

In January 2024, the defendant’s live-in girlfriend called Mesa Police to report that Brauer had come home drunk and tried to have sex with her. She refused, and Brauer proceeded to slap, punch and hit her in the face repeatedly, bite her face and breast area, and held her captive inside a bedroom, according to a press release from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
