DOJ investigation in Phoenix PD hits 2 year mark, $5 million in cost

Interim Chief Sullivan highlights departmental changes

As the U.S. Department of Justice’s investigation into the Phoenix Police Department reaches the two-year mark, Interim Police Chief Michael Sullivan said reform efforts are already underway in the department and will continue after the investigation concludes.

In an interview with the Daily Independent on Friday, Sullivan highlighted the efforts the department has undertaken in the wake of the investigation.

“The folks that we have working on what I would call reform-related efforts are going to be focused on reform-related efforts (after the investigation concludes),” Sullivan said. “You know, I think that’s important for us to stay focused on regardless of what happens in this investigation.”
