Dogs’ paws at risk without protection during heat

Boots are needed to prevent injury

Dogs need protective boots when walking outside during the summer in Glendale.

That simple fact is evident during extreme heat warnings, as well as in the approaching month of July. Statistically, July is Glendale’s hottest month of the year with an average high temperature of 101.8° and an average low-temperature of 82.8°.

Equally important is keeping dogs inside, or at the very least with plenty of shade and water outside. But if owners want to get their furry friends some exercise even when temperatures are soaring, walking dogs on pavement and asphalt without protection is a sure way for the dogs’ paws to get burned.
