Chandler will have a Diwali Festival of Lights celebration next month.

Chandler’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division invites the community to visit Dr. A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza, 178 E. Commonwealth Ave., from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Nov. 4 to take part one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, symbolizing the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance,” according to a release.

At the free event, Kriti Dance, ABCD School of Dance, Desert Dancers and dozens of other performers will take the stageb to feature Bollywood, Rajasthani, Kuchipudi and Kathak dance, event organizers said.

The event’s entertainment schedule is available online at chandleraz.gov/events/diwali-festival-lights-2023

Food will be available for purchase from Biryani Pot Chandler, Curry Junction, Desi Gaadi, Pakka Local – Sweet Magic on Wheels and Rain Cafe.

There also will be booths sharing information on free community resources, and several cultural vendors will attend, according to the release.
