Disappointed in Rep. Blackman’s vote against teachers

Apache Junction residents urges state Senate to vote no on HCR 2040

OPINION — When our elected officials talk about education, it’s clear many haven’t set foot in a classroom in decades.

That disconnect has been on full display in recent debates over HCR 2040 — a partisan bill designed to hurt Arizona’s hard-working teachers and dismantle the unions through which we advocate for our students.

I’ve been a member of the union in my school district for 10 years. During that time, my union has worked collaboratively with administrators to improve our public schools.
