The first full hospital campus in Surprise does not appear to have many hurdles to construction, although it remains early in its design stage.
During its April 4 meeting, the Surprise City Council will vote on a major planned area development change in land-use designation of about 22 acres to accommodate a Dignity Health West Valley Campus south of Greenway Road just west of Loop 303.
The Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of this zoning change to an employment area in the Prasada Gateway Village. It would pave the way for a three-phase hospital estimated to encompass 502,744 square feet in its conceptual site plan.
