Digitized system helps inspect fire prevention tools in Phoenix

Far more businesses submitting inspection reports than under old system

Far more Phoenix businesses are verifying that their fire prevention systems have passed their required annual inspection since the Phoenix Fire Department digitized its compliance system last year.

Businesses with fire prevention systems, such as sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control systems, or large vent hoods in a commercial kitchen, are required to have those systems inspected every year to ensure they still work properly.

The fire department saw poor compliance levels under the previous paper system, but those levels skyrocketed since council approved the new Brycer Compliance Engine in January 2020.
