Diggins-Smith's late-game surge lifts Mercury over Sky, 77-74 in OT

Skylar Diggins-Smith turned on the jets late in the game Thursday to lift the Mercury to a 77-74 overtime win over the Chicago Sky for the team’s third straight win and first home win of the year.

The star point guard scored 13 of her 28 points in the fourth quarter as the Mercury (5-3) stormed back from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

“She’s a winner,” Mercury Coach Sandy Brondello said of Diggins-Smith. “I mean, she’s just got this competitive nature, and we needed every ounce of her heart tonight, because they put a lot of pressure on us. …She’s just so crafty. She loves this moment.”
