The Recreation Centers of Sun City directors are in disarray, and the members are not getting the fair, open leadership they deserve. Three directors have resigned, the previous general manager resigned, two directors have been quietly removed from their committee chair positions for reasons unknown to the voters who elected them. This has never happened in the last 24 years.
Now, at the last Town Hall Meeting, two more options were inappropriately added to the program.
One presenter violated the clear directions from the Long Range Planning Committee to limit the slide presentation to 20-25 minutes, so members would have an hour and 45 minutes to make whatever comments or questions they had.

The other clear direction was the presentation dealing with PAC committee was to report on what official action PAC had taken, not what results he wanted. Now two proposals that had never been approved by the PAC have been presented at the Town Hall. Another violation of the clear directions given to the presenters.
There seems to be no end to what the three people pushing pickleball expansion will force upon the members while greedily eliminating other members’ activities with no concern about the negative affect on Sun City life or Sun City’s future.
The membership of pickleball is less than 2% of the RCSC membership.
Decisions are apparently being made in secrecy, against past practice and against RCSC rules.
Decisions have been made without a board meeting, which means they were not official board decisions and therefore invalid and unenforceable.
The board of directors can only make decisions at a public meeting and with a majority vote. Yet directors have been removed from committees and the members have been told nothing.
It appears a small number of directors have usurped control and are quietly eliminating any opposition and replacing them with people who support their private agenda.
They want to allocate the members’ money to promote their favorite activity over the needs of other member activities.
The members can stop this before it does serious damage to Sun City’s future. Ask the hard questions, demand transparency.
They will cite that privacy issues prevent them from explaining, but that is just another attempt to keep you in the dark.
Federal privacy protection laws are for employees, not public figures.
Demand they explain the alleged offenses which required that some directors get disciplined, some do not.
Ask why the public charge that the board president illegally deleted corporate records has not been independently investigated
And that the president has not been disciplined or even investigated. She has not publicly denied the truth of those charges, but other directors have already been secretly disciplined.
It is your board, make them accountable, remind them that they were elected to serve in the best interests of all the members not just a few.
