Keep Tempe Beautiful volunteers will be at Diablo Stadium Friday to help with the city’s recycling effort during the Los Angeles Angels spring training game.

Two shifts are available – 11:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 2:15-5 p.m. Friday, March 3 – when volunteers will be removing trash from recycling containers and recyclables from trash receptacles, event organizers said.

The meeting place will be at the base of the steps leading up to the main gates of the stadium, 2200 W. Alameda Drive.

Keep Tempe Beautiful will provide nitrile gloves and one puncture-proof glove that can be used on the hand pulling items out of the containers.

“These are more protective gloves, but they are very expensive, so we will be gathering them after each shift,” event organizers said.

Volunteers, who must be 14 years of age, should bring a full water bottle, sunscreen and hat.
