A new future is in the works for Fiesta Mall’s abandoned carcass in Mesa.

The Fiesta Mall, 1445 W. Southern Ave., has been vacant for about four years.

But its new owners have submitted preliminary plans to build commercial, office and multifamily housing on the 80-acre site where the empty mall still stands.
