Detectives divulge details surrounding Scottsdale man's death

Community, family remembers Najib Monsif

About two weeks before his 21st birthday, the remains of missing Scottsdale resident Najib “Jubi” Monsif have been found several miles from the neighborhood he went missing from in late September.

On Dec. 14, Scottsdale Police Department officials announced the discovery of Monsif’s remains in an Central Arizona Project canal in Mesa. The remains were found one week prior, on Dec. 7, officials say.

“We are heart broken at the development of this case, it is not the outcome any one in our community was hoping for,” said Aaron Bolin, a Scottsdale Police public information officer, during a Dec. 14 press conference. “We were all hoping Jubi would be found alive, in good health, and be reunited with his family and friends.”
