Details provided on investigation of Scottsdale officer shooting

The Scottsdale Police Department has released more details about the original investigation and circumstances that led to the shooting of a Scottsdale sergeant by Kenneth Hearne, 37, in downtown Phoenix on Jan. 6.

The department held a news conference Jan. 12 in which they shared an investigation is ongoing for acquaintances of Hearne and a critical incident debrief video will be released within the next couple of weeks.

The sergeant was shot in the abdomen while serving a search warrant at an apartment in Phoenix near First Avenue and Roosevelt Street on the night of Jan. 6.
