Design of new BBQ restaurant in Old Town Peoria expected to begin this month

Name of new restaurant has yet to be announced, expected to help revitalize downtown

City officials are getting close to announcing the new BBQ restaurant that is planned for Old Town Peoria.

The restaurant is one of many projects the city has been working on that they say will help revitalize the area.

City Manager Henry Darwin said the city recently selected A.R. Mays Construction and Nelson Partners Architects and Planners to design and build the new BBQ restaurant, which is planned for Washington Street in the area of the former Napa Auto Parts shop.
