Design approved for expansion of Signal Butte Water Treatment Plant in Mesa

A city of Mesa water treatment facility on 84 acres north of Elliot Road and east of Signal Butte Road is to be expanded, doubling its capacity to 48 million gallons per day.

The landscaping and look of the facility were approved in a 6-0 vote at the Oct. 11 meeting of the Mesa Design Review Board. Board member Jeanette Knudsen was absent.

The city of Mesa is expanding the Signal Butte Water Treatment Plant, Staff Planner Evan Balmer said at the board meeting.
