Desert landscape helps save water in Sun City West

Work complete as deadline approaches

A grant through the Arizona Office of Tourism is playing a role in water conservation in Sun City West.

Recreation Centers of Sun City West officials were working against a deadline before the unused funds from the grant would have to be returned, and RCSCW Environmental Services Manager Todd Patty said about two years ago officials applied for the grant program, which provided $105,000 each for Grandview Golf, Pebblebrook, Stardust and Echo Mesa golf courses.

“We spent $105,000 at Grandview last year and then doing turf removal at Stardust and Pebblebrook Golf courses,” Patty said.
