Desert Hills Community School of Music welcomes new flute instructor

Flutist Katrina King is the newest faculty member at the Desert Hills Community School of Music.

Flutist Katrina King is Desert Hills Community School of Music the newest faculty member.
King is a professional flutist who has spent her career performing and teaching private flute lessons for students of all ages and ability levels. As with Desert Hills Community School of Music’s other educational offerings, King will be providing lessons on the scenic campus of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, 34605 N. Tom Darlington Road, in Scottsdale.
An Arizona native, King holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Grand Canyon University and is a former student of Joe Corral and Anne Diener-Zentner. As a performer, she has played with many distinguished local orchestras. She started on piccolo with the Scottsdale Symphony, and over the years has played with the Phoenix Pro Musica Orchestra, Phoenix College Community Orchestra, Chandler Symphony Orchestra (principal flute) and Symphony of the Southwest, with which she continues to perform regularly as principal flute. King is also the principal sub for the Arizona Opera.
Private lessons with King are available in 30-, 45- and 60-minute segments. The school of music also offers a variety of group classes and private lessons for kids and adults on instruments including the piano, cello, saxophone, flute, guitar and more.
