The city of Surprise is partnering with Dementia Friends Arizona and Banner Sun Health Research Institute to provide a free information session from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about dementia — what it is, what it’s like to live with it, the most common types and tips for communicating with people with dementia.
This one-hour session will be held at Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, in the Community Room. A box lunch will be provided to attendees.
Registrations are limited to the first 60 people. To register, email Trisha Weston at Trisha.Weston@surpiseaz.gov no later than Friday, June 23.
Surprise is a member of the Dementia-Friendly America network of communities and offers Dementia Friends sessions in partnership with Dementia Friends Arizona and Banner Sun Health Research Institute.
