For the eighth consecutive year, Delta Dental of Arizona has earned the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program award for its implementation of evidence-based health initiatives to improve the well-being of their employees, employees’ families, and communities.
In addition, for the second consecutive year, Delta Dental will be honored with the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program Platinum Award, according to a press release. The Platinum Award – the highest level of recognition – is presented to businesses making an impact both within and beyond their walls addressing one or more of the many health challenges impacting communities across the state. Platinum level awardees have demonstrated data driven programming and are leveraging cross-sector collaborations or partnerships improving the health, well-being, and equity of their community.
Healthy Arizona Worksites Program, a public health initiative developed through a partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, will recognize Delta Dental and fellow honorees for their wellness efforts on June 17 at the Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix.
“In addition to providing cost-effective dental benefits to our members, Delta Dental works to help the under served and under insured children, adults and seniors in Arizona access the oral health care they need by funding programs focused on disease prevention, nutrition, oral health education, and medical-dental integration,” Jolean Fleck, senior vice president of people and organizational development at Delta Dental of Arizona, said in the release. “Beyond this, Delta Dental employees volunteered 946 hours at 27 events in the past year. That means 63% of our employees are actively volunteering in the community.”
