Delbert Richard Gebhart

Delbert Richard Gebhart, passed away on May 6, 2018. He was 91 years old. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 18th at Sunland Memorial Park. Funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation. An interment will follow at Sunland Memorial Park.Delbert was born in Peoria, Illinois on October 11, 1926 to Richard and Nellie Gebhart. His family moved to Indianola, Iowa, where he was raised.He was preceded in death by his brother Ryal Gebhart.After graduating from high school, Delbert joined the Army and was stationed in the Philippines and Korea. Upon returning to the states, he attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He then attended American Institute of Business where he received his accounting degree.He met his wife Helen Ruth Golightly. The couple married and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Delbert owned an accounting business.He is survived by his wife, Helen Gebhart; daughter, Jan Lacey (Paul); grandsons: Nicholas Lacey (Chrissie) and Bryant Lacey (Monica).
