Deer Valley Unified OKs reduced operating budget

District facing first of three $11M cuts this coming Fiscal Year

A month before the new school year starts, Deer Valley Unified School District has its expenditure budget.

The governing board on Tuesday adopted its $267.7 million financial plan for Fiscal Year 26. That’s a 5.6% decrease from the $283 million limit a year ago.

The $267.7 million does not include an additional $13.6 million for Capital needs, Deputy Superintendent of Fiscal and Business Services Jim Migliorino noted earlier this month. He further explained that while the $267.7 million covers maintenance and operation (M&O), the entire FY26 budget is expected to surpass $441 million; or more than $476 million when accounting for the previous Bond sale repayment schedule.
