Deer Valley Unified boundary decision pushed until October

Board members seek updated enrollment data before deciding on changes affecting schools

The Deer Valley Unified School District’s lengthy process of redrawing attendance boundaries in its northern neighborhoods appears to be nearing its conclusion, but a final decision will have to wait until next month.

The Governing Board voted Tuesday night to table proposed boundary changes until its next meeting, on Oct. 6, giving members time to review updated enrollment projections before deciding on changes that could affect schools beginning in the 2027-28 school year.

The district’s Long Range Planning Committee recommended two proposals intended to address overcrowding and underenrollment.
