Death investigation begins after woman's body found in Scottsdale canal

A woman's body was discovered Saturday morning in a canal near Hayden and Indian Bend roads, Scottsdale police said.

Police and fire personnel responded about 8:05 a.m. March 28 to the Salt River Project Canal near the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club to recover the body in cooperation with  SRP and the Central Arizona  Project.

Detectives and crime scene specialists also responded, and police said the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will be involved in the case.
