Larry H. Miller Dealerships in Avondale collected thousands of school supplies for students in Avondale Elementary School District, delivering them to the district office on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1.
School children wearing face coverings and holding up homemade “thank you” signs greeted vehicles from the company’s Dodge Ram, Chrysler Jeep and Volkswagen dealerships as they pulled into the district office parking lot at 295 W. Western Ave., Avondale.
The district, which serves Kindergarten through eighth-grade students in Avondale and Goodyear, returned to in-person learning at 50% capacity in October, and teachers have been faced with the challenges because students can no longer share supplies due to COVID-19 safety measures.
