Deadline nears for artists to submit proposals for Tempe program

Tempe wants to commission a group to perform in six Tempe locations as part of the Arts in the Parks program.

Performances could be adaptations of previous work or new work in the form of theater or dance or a combination of the two practices, according to a release.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Oct. 26. Compensation is up to $20,000.

Qualifications: 

  • Dance or theater collective/performance group.
  • Experience with performing outdoors, creating art for all ages and/or engaging with audiences.
  • Interest in using creative skills in social practice and community engagement.
  • Live in Arizona
  • Available on the evenings of April 3, 4, 9, 10, 16 and 24 (dates are tentative)
