A major shakeup has taken place on the Queen Creek Unified School District’s Governing Board with a long-time incumbent losing his seat and a parent who homeschools his children being elected.
Certified results of the Nov. 8 election show incumbent Samantha Davis retaining her seat with 39% of the vote. James Knox, who homeschools his children, took the second seat with 36% of the vote. Ken Brague, who in his 13 years on the board served as president, lost his seat by receiving 26% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Queen Creek residents voted down a $198 million school bond by 55% to 45%.
