David R. Bjorseth, son of the late Ralph Bjorseth and Rosella Bjorseth of Aurora, Illinois, died at Banner Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Arizona on February 12, 2025. Dave was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 15, 1943, and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1961. He was a proud graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1965. At Mizzou he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, where he formed many lifelong friendships. He married the former Lillian Bingenheimer in 1964. Son Scott was soon part of the family. Dave and Lillian moved to Downers Grove, Illinois in 1968 from Michigan. Son Troy joined the family in 1969. Dave married Sue Aulis (nee Stewart) in 1986. Dave spent most of his adult life working in the advertising world and living in Downers Grove. He moved full time to Arizona in 2010 with his third wife Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Russell Bjorseth, second wife, Susan Aulis Bjorseth, formerly of Yorkville, Illinois and a grandson Garrett David Bjorseth. Dave was a lifelong Chicago/St. Louis/ Phoenix Cardinals fan and enjoyed being close to his favorite childhood NFL team in Arizona. He also was a long-suffering Chiago White Sox fan. His love for the White Sox has been passed on to new generations. He also loved music, movies, diet coke and smoking cigarettes. He is survived by his current wife Kathleen Bjorseth of Surprise, Arizona as well as his first wife Lillian Bjorsth and two sons Scott (Nancy) Bjorseth of Godfrey, Illinois and Troy (Shelly) Bjorseth of Downers Grove, Illinois. He has three grandsons, Justin, Ryan and Logan, all of the Chicagoland area. Dave enjoyed his golden years in Arizona, staying busy with traveling, water volleyball, doctor visits, the Sunflower Playhouse and the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the University of Missouri Alumni Association. A celebration of his life will be held at Loyal Order of Moose, 1030 Warren Avenue, Downers Grove, IL on May 29, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. His sons would love to see you there for food and drinks.
