Oct. 11, 1926 - Dec. 13, 2016 SUN CITY WEST - David Bizé died after a long battle with cancer. David celebrated his 90th birthday in October. David was born on Oct. 11, 1926 to David Bizé, Sr. and Ella Lois Kennedy in Sutton, Neb. David's great-grandfather, Jean Paul Bizé, emigrated from Nantes, France in 1886 to their family homestead in Julian, Neb. Proud of his military service, David served in the army for two years during World War II before returning to Lincoln, Neb. When he returned, he was a Supervisor then worked his way up to Station Manager, at the Post Office in Lincoln, Neb. David was married to Barbara Burke for 54 years. They enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, and collecting antiques. They resided most of their married life in Lincoln, Neb. They moved to Sun City West 15 years ago to retire and escape the harsh Nebraska winters. For many years they entertained family and friends in Arizona at Christmas. David absolutely loved playing Santa Claus. Barbara was the love of David's life. She preceded him in death last year and he greatly missed his life partner. David was an avid stamp collector. He was a member and Judge Emeritus of the American Philatelic Society and Honorary Life Member of the Lincoln, Neb., Stamp Club. He won several awards and authored several papers for the American Philatelic Research Library. Everyone always had plenty of stamps for postage, or discussion, when David was around! David loved to hunt and fish. He collected hand guns, long guns and canons and was a member of the Colt Gun Collectors Association specializing in .38 caliber handguns. He organized family fishing trips to Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin and British Columbia. After relocating from Nebraska to Arizona, David became a Master Gardner, and with his green thumb, had some the most productive lime, lemon, pumelo and tangelo trees in Sun City West, not to mention exotic cacti which he grew and donated to the Sun City West Garden Club. David will be interred at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City, Neb., next to Barbara, his father and step-mother, and grandparents, Paul and Blanche. The service Honoring David's life, will be at Marshall Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. David is survived by his daughter, Chelle Bizé Yarbrough and husband, Chet Yarbrough, Las Vegas, Nev.; son, David III (Trey) Bizé and wife, Susan, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and granddaughter, Nicolette Bizé Wiley and husband, Richard; and great-granddaughter, Hadyn, all of Richardson, Texas. The many people who loved David will greatly miss his smile, contagious delight in having a good time, outgoing personality, and the twinkle in his eye. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Philatelic Society or your favorite charity.
