The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution honored the Scottsdale Police Department’s communications center employees with awards this week.

Mayor David Ortega joined the DAR’s Grand Canyon chapter in a ceremony April 10 at police headquarters.

Ortega issued a proclamation recognizing the 911 operators and dispatchers on National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, which runs through Saturday, April 15.

During the ceremony, 35 communications center employees were presented with the NSDAR Distinguished Citizen Medal and certificates.

Scottsdale police personnel will be at a statewide career fair on April 15 for those wanting to become 911 dispatchers. For more information about the career fair: www.azapconena.org/events/we-are-9-1-1-come-join-us
