Daniel Joseph Sury, a 30-year resident of Sun City, just 4 days shy of his 81st birthday, died on December 17, 2018, at his home of natural causes. He was born on December 21, 1937, to Stanley and Agnes (Kaczocha) Sury, graduated from Griffith HS in 1955, served in the Naval Reserves and attended Ball State Teachers College.He married Elaine Worley on July 24, 1965 and celebrated 53 years of marriage.He worked for the MCSO as a Detention Officer and retired after 15 years of service. He was a jubilee member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, served as an acolyte at St. Joachim and St. Anne Church and for short time at St. Clement of Rome Church where he was also an adorer. He was a member of St. Clement of Rome's Men's Golf League. For many years he also enjoyed bowling in leagues and tournaments. He was an avid sports fan. One of the most exciting days of his life was when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons, Mark (Carol) and Joe (Amelia); 2 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Jim (Sherry); and many relatives.A funeral mass will be held on March 1st at St. Clement of Rome Church at 11:00 A.M. His body was donated to Science Care for the good of humankind.
