Dandy Warhols to open new fall tour in Tempe

Alt-rock mainstays will drop new album Oct. 13

The Dandy Warhols will kick off a fall tour in Tempe in support of their upcoming new album.

Formed in Portland, Oregon, the combo that combines alternative powerpop and heavy rock will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at Marquee Theatre, 730 N. Mill Ave.

Spawning alt-rock mainstays like “Bohemian Like You”, “Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth,” “Have a Kick Ass Summer (Me and My Friends)” and “We Used to Be Friends,” the band has prepped its follow-up to 2020’s experimental concept album “Tafelmuzik Means More When You’re Alone” and the 2023 digital EP “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”

“The Summer of Hate” will be available Oct. 13.

The Dandy Warhols is Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Peter Holmström (guitar, keyboards), Zia McCabe (keyboard, bass, percussion) and Brent DeBoer (drums, backing vocals).

The tour will include The Black Angels, and guest DAIISTAR.
