Sun City - An extraordinary life passed from us peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2014. Lee Reichstein, husband, father, grandfather, pastor and friend, passed away after an extended struggle with Parkinsons disease. His kindly gentle manner and his ever ready smile drew people of all ages to him and he was always ready to help or give a special hug. Born June 4, 1929 in Kearney, Nebraska to Fern and Harley Reichstein, he lived there until his asthma made moving to Boulder, Colorado a necessity. He graduated from Boulder High School, and the University of Colorado before attending and graduating from the American Seminary of the West and being ordained a Baptist preacher. He served as pastor in five different churches throughout Colorado and also served at Colorado Boys Ranch where he was chaplain to 64 boys. He was married to Janis Clemons until her death in 1982. He met and married his wife, Mary Burney, in 1984 and they had 30 wonderful years together. His devoted wife, Mary, survives him along with four children and five grandchildren. Lee had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and even in his last days had a smile on his face when praying to go home to the Lord. A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Bellevue Hts. Church, Burns and Hutton Rds., Sun City, Az. at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Parkinson Foundation, or Grace Hospice.
